Carl Friederich Ferdinand Janke, son of Johann Janke/Louise Zimdars
Anyone with ties, please contact me - I would like to be able to go back further, as well as fill in blanks in the information I already have.
Carl Friederich Ferdinand Janke, aka Ferdinand, settled in Marathon County, Wisconsin.I believe he was from Grafenburg, Prussia. He immigrated to this country in 1867, per later records. However, I have not been able to identify the ship, etc.His wife was Emilie (Amilia Edri) Mueller, daughter of Ludwig/? Mueller. His oldest daughter, Bertha Frederike Louise Augusta, aka Augusta, was born 30 June,1867.Per the 1870 census records, she was born in Wisconsin.Per other records, she was born in Prippernow, Prussia. His parents were Johann Janke/Louise Zimdars.Johann Janke is not listed in the 1870 census.Louise is listed in the census and is living with her son.She lives with her son until her death in 1887.I have located her grave, but have not been able to locate Johann's.Ferdinand appears to have two brothers who also settled in Marathon County, Wisconsin. They are Johann Heinrich Ferdinand (b. 9 February, 1836 - d. 13 April, 1871) and Christian Janke, who was married to Christanne.
Carl Friederich Ferdinand and Emilie had seven daughters and four sons. The children married into some huge farm families, so there are many relatives out there.Beside Jankes, there are Kankelfitz, Borchardt, Graebel, and Hartkof's.
