I posted a message here but it never showed up so if it should show up again, well, I can't control the slow-ness of the posts. It was over an hour ago that I posted the original message regarding the Jameson's and the Bradford and Cooke Mayflower connections. Many of you may already know this, but many may not, so here I am being a good Santa's elf. Paul Jameson, Sr. b. 1728 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland Co., Maine married 1749 in prob. the same, to Elizabeth PEBBLES b. 1730 in Cape. Eliz. Paul died 1803 in Friendship, Lincoln Co., later Knox Co., Maine and Elizabeth died there as well in 1829. They had several children, 10 from what info I have gathered from VR's and Library info. These are the children I have for them: Martha, Robert, Jean/Jane, Diana, Charles, Paul, Jr., William, Isaac (Capt.), Sarah, and Jeremiah. Of these children, Martha, William and Jeremiah all married into the Mayflower descended families of Bradford and Cooke. 1st Martha Jameson b. May 30, 1751 Friendship, ME married 1773 Medumcook (now Friendship),ME to Joshua BRADFORD, Jr. son of Joshua Bradford and Hannah Bradford (yes they were cousins). There is a good bit of history on Joshua, Sr. and his cousin wife Hannah Bradford, and sadly they were both scalped during an Indian raid at Medumcook in May of 1758. According to history a Chief Moxus lead the attack at Medumcook. Joshua Bradford, Jr. and Martha JAMESON also had several children: Rachel, Paul, Isaiah, Nancy, Robert, Ann, Cornelius and Joshua, III (for clarity). Joshua, III b. 1791 Friendship, married 1st to Nancy Grafton in 1816, and 2nd to Sarah JAMESON in 1826. Isaiah Bradford b. 1778 Friendship married 1st 1799 to Asenath MORTON (a descendant of George Morton of the ANNE 1623 to Plymouth). ************************************************ 2nd - son William Jameson b. 1764 Friendship, ME married 1791 in Friendship to Hannah BRADFORD (Carpenter 4,Elisha3, Joseph2, William 1 of the Mayflower). Hannah was b. 1767 in Medumcook, ME daug. of Carpenter Bradford and Mary GAY. Hannah had previously been married to Zenas COOKE in about 1785 Friendship, ME and his lineage line was (James4, Caleb3, Jacob2, Francis 1 of the Mayflower). Zenas was b. c1753 prob. Dighton, MA son of James Cooke and Abigail Hodges. Zenas and Hannah (Bradford) had 2 children: Hannah Cooke b. 1786 Friendship, ME and Elijah Cooke b. 1788 Friendship, ME. (I have no other info on them.) William JAMESON and Hannah BRADFORD had a daughter named Charlotte Jameson b. 1806 most likely Friendship who m. 1830 to Alexander YOUNG and she d. 1886 in Friendship, ME. **************************** 3rd is Jeremiah Jameson b. 1770 Friendship, ME married Elsie COOKE b. 1783 Friendship, ME daugh. of James (Capt.) Cooke (not the famous Capt. Cook), and Elsie BRADFORD. Elsie COOKE died 1866 prob. in Friendship, ME. She and Jeremiah had 10 children: Sarah Jameson b. 1802, Eleanor b. 1805, Paul b. 1808, Henry b. 1810, Elsie Cook Jameson b. 1813, James Cook Jameson b. 1817, Edward Jameson b. 1820, Nancy b. ? Edward 2 Jameson b. 1822, and Eleazer Jameson b. 1826. *********************************************** Info taken from VR's of Knox Co., and various Library info, and some terrific help from a dear lady who lives near Friendship and was willing to do a lot of look-ups for me. (thank you...you know who you are). Hope this helps some of you out...Happy Holidays
