Betty: The term is "cedar-breaker" not "cedar choppers" . My branch of the family does not want to make fun of anyone..you are the one who "threw a fit" when you and my sister were talking and you asked her what she had heard about your side of the family....she said she heard they were "cedar-breakers" and you started raising your voice and saying "don't ever say that again!!" "My family was never cedar breakers - that is the worst thing you could say about a person" My sister replied that she thought it was an honest profession. You are the one who said it was a demeaning profession, not us!! As usual, things that you write are not always as they occurred. Mr. Roming is mistaken in what he saw, at least when my father was there. Certainly, I would not profess to know what he saw before or after my dad was there, because that would be putting me at the scene. I am sure he is an honorable man, but I know my dad is. I could swear to a notary that I was the king of Siam, but that wouldn't make it so. This is certainly counter-productive, however, you stated my grandfather, B. C. Courtney, Sr. had to be taken care of by James L.Courtney....the fact was and is that Grandpa Courtney asked my grandfather, BCC, Sr. to stay with him, raise his children and upon his death, he would be the recepient of the "home place" because grandpa Courtney bought all of his children EXEPT BYRON C. COURTNEY, Sr. a place of their choosing in exchange for his remaining with him (JLC) until his death (which BCC, Sr. did). You have mislead people time and again on this fact.

BCC, Sr. was not always digging for gold........he did know of the "three"....we still do.

So you see Betty, you don't have your facts straight about this either.
