David, Here we go again. I keep telling myself, maybe he will "get it" this time. *sigh* 1. Nobody is attacking Betty, yet if one disagrees with her it is an attack. If either of you disagree with anyone here, we are at fault for sticking to our beliefs. Many of us heard stories too, but we realized they were stories. 2. This photo was made after 1900 and was not a tintype. You can clearly see the buttons and JLC's tie pin and what side it belongs on. Betty has heard from my photo expert, who has been collecting and studing period clothing for over 33 years. He told her that the clothing in the supposed Archie Samuel photo was all wrong. He told me he contacted her, stating he could see a faint hand outline in the Big 4 photo in her book, as did most of us (except you and Betty). I agree Mr. Shelton's photo is in bad shape, but that does not mean anyone tampered with it, nor account for the one from the Hauns in Kansas, the original. 3. How dare you say the TWO seperate photos we have of the "Big 4" were tampered with? I believe this to be a tad slanderous, being that one of the owners of the photo is wonderful 78 year old lady. She can barely use her computer to get online long enough to send email, let alone know how to make fake hands. This is REALLY stretching it now. I think you have lost it... I am awaiting copies of these photos made by a professional photographer. I doubt he would appreciate his intergity being slandered in this manner either. I REALLY resent this remark towards these kind people, and for now will take it for granted Betty had no part in it!!! Nobody felt a need to "draw in hands" in any of the confirmed photos of Jesse James mother. You are pulling at straws... 4. You and Betty asked me in email, not here, I wonder why, to send you both the closeup of the 3, not 9, in the enlistment papers, which I did along with the original from which it was enlarged. Yes Zerelda and Frank were about 6' so what? Jesse was 5'10" approx. There are case files where midgets (little people) had parents of extreme height. That does not mean anything. I do not believe anyone ever said, "Hey Jess, come here let me measure you!" My husband, I have stated is 6'6" and we have kids from 6' down to 5'1" ok she is a girl but so is the one who is 6' and neither of the boys are over 5'8" your point is null on this. JLC was 6'4" and Jesse would have stood out like a sore thumb if it were he. Your point about my working for Philip Steele is hilarious! Work for him, I suppose so, since I was paid for my information. I bought a new house, new car and... oh wait a minute, he only paid me $50. Golly! My name is in the back of one of his book, misspelled I might add, as one of his research assistants. I helped on the chapter on hoaxes. I previously stated I do not agree with all of the photos in his book. That had nothing to do with what I wrote about. He knows how I feel and he has nothing to do with the current disagreement. What angle? I would like that one answered... 5. For one I cant even find that book in B & N listings, and for another you missed my point. It was a FEMALE and I said was EASY to read, a copy will be on the page also. Now the story changes to be his child, how convenient, but no cigar, the name was NOT Wilkerson. Besides, was there only ONE Wilkerson in all of Missouri, Kansas and Texas, so it HAD to be the same man???? 6. I know he did. Last night reading a first-hand account of the robberies and companionship of Wood Hite and Jesse James. If anyone gets a chance, read, "Under the Black Flag." Then match up some of the robberies with the diary notes. Oh, I forgot that was only written as his alibi, yeah that's it.... but when you need it as proof positive then it is all true... ok.. While we are talking about Texas, you once inquired as to why would gang members go there. That was also discussed in the book of last night. There was not much law in Texas, where a man could easily get lost [it was big then too], and many men did just that... got lost in the vastness, changed their names, whatever... --I would have done what I am doing now, researching the facts and recording all that I find, then coming to a conclusion. At this point, I would be asking myself why my family told these stories in the first place. Afterwards, I might have written another book on my findings and spread the truth of it. [Heaven knows I have given her enough to do just that!] Betty should have given her documentation in her last book. I do believe she has lost many followers and they are dropping everyday. I only wish they would post here, what they are telling me in email, but I can understand them not wanting to get involved. --New to me, I never heard Robert James death was controversial. Last night I read something Zereda James said, in an interview. She tells of her husband going off to California and I believe it was something like 3 months after he died she found out, she was heartbroken. Had he lived, things would have been different. You should read this one too, you might learn something. Yes, it's on the page too. Along with the report of Jesse and Zee's marriage, and more. --I have sent for the DNA Report. I am no expert on DNA, nor would I wish to be; but Prof. Starrs and Prof. Finnegan are. I have also written to both of them, though I do not know if they are back in the country as yet. I hope to be meeting both of them next month. I am certain they will love to hear Betty has claimed their work as "botched." Do you think we are all sitting on the edges of our seats waiting for Betty to announce her findings on the 1995 exhumation? Like where did she get her PhD? Unlike you we do not all wait on her every word. --Your poll? Is just that, a poll, so? Next question... 1. The Jesse W. was not a son of Jesse James nor JLC, not even a Courtney. James W.? His father was James... This is of no consequence. 2. Only in your eyes. I will be posting this letter on the website also. [The one about Paws death.] I know, I know, "Jesse" was just trying to fool .... etc. 3. Funny thing about old Zerelda writing to her son, she couldn't write! I have a letter to Frank, from Zerelda and she has to have her "hired girl" write it for her, as is stated in the letter. Hogwash! There is no such evidence that these were the same family. I have their genealogies and compared them. 4. h... probably? Is this your *proof* ?? This man could not spell Tuesday and Wednesday, yet he was able to spell and know the meanings of tryst and heist? They don't even rhyme. Please... Cousin? More on this another time. 5. Now Frank looks like JLC???? WHAT? You mean the giant and the beanstalk? Really.... Well, now that you mention it they both had two arms and legs, so ok... Nothing has been accomplished here David, as usual, just irritating some and entertaining others. Get a grip before it is too late. Bring on your questions, when have I refused? I can only answer with the facts at hand. Lets keep them civil and on topic. Linda
