From your web site on the military records check under Declaration of Recruit, January 21, 1864: "(JLC) was seventeen years and nine months of age."
This calculated DOB is April 21, 1846 as compared to the Texas JLC stated DOB of 31 Oct 1846.
Check Betty’s book on 60 for the physical description as noted in the war records. They do note match the known description of the Texas JLC.
Looks to me that we have two different people as Betty has been saying.
