Here is the quote from Betty's book under the picture of the 10 people standing in front of the house. "The photograph was found on James L. Courtney's trunk after his death. Some of the people have been identified as family members from his home in Missouri. The author believes the boy on the far right to be Jesse's half-brother Archie Payton Samuel."
The Courtney family did once live in Missouri. “The author believes” the boy was Archie because at another place in the photo section the faces do look alike. If Archie was there, that does not mean the group was all James family. You seem to think that you know the boy was not Archie. OK, so let’s see proof and not opinion.
Betty can tell you better than I about her viewpoint, but that’s how I see it.
