As I understand it now, Shirley, there have been three stories about the name change.

1. The deserter story, which we now believe was wrong.
2. A story about Stephen Courtney.
3. A story about a younger brother of JLC, stealing a horse in order to go see his older brother.

We continue to work on this and as I have made a new friend, intend on working with him on his Haun family. I am sure we will send you anything you need, or you may obtain it on the website by copying whatever you want.

I had never heard anyone state a second marriage theory. But we do have a newspaperarticle about Stephen and Diannah and a photo of Stephen, if you do not already have it, will enjoy. He looks much like John Brown, white bushy hair and all. Just make JLC look old with white hair and you got him...
