Bob ,You have heard the old saying,"Your Goose is cooked." It reminded me of the Christmas that we decided to have an old fashion dinner and so our choice was a goose from the Pond. Our first mistake.

My brother and son shot him and brought him in to be plucked and picked. This took up most of the morning, you are familiar with the pin feathers and the down, I notice. Well, into the roaster he goes and into the oven. After a while I went to check and found the lid was lifted and the goose legs were straight up and out and the pan was full of goose fat. This had to have been the oldest goose around and impossible to eat. Tough as a boot. From that day on, we have stuck to Turkey and the goose can fly as high as he wants too.
