http://genforum.genealogy.com/james/messages/33448.html **************************************************** Rollie, please read the above post after my message here. I don't want to get the horse before the cart. The Charles Bigelow conspiracy theory was started by non other then John James and picked up by J. Frank Dalton. John James was an old ugly man with a mental problem , who claimed he was Jesse Woodson James and lived the last days of his life in a mental Hospital. Dr Robert Highley, "The flying Parson" wrote his book claiming this John James was Jesse .I believe this was just to compete with Orvus lee Howk and his book writing .... Highley was working as a Gospel singer and Evangelist and was busy moving from one night stand to another and a plane would be a great help. I believe he wrote more about Jesse James then he did religion. He put out bad information about Zerelda E. James and many others as far as I am concerned. He did not practice what he preached. Another reason for Jesse James being his own pall-bearer and singing at his own funeral was started by another, rumor which will be explained by another poster on this or the Outlaws forum . I'll post it as soon as I can find it.....very interesting. Thanks for the post. Glynda Notify Administrator about this message?
