Fran, I think family stories are great, but they are just stories. I believe one of my uncles, when a skeleton was unearthed in Coleman County, Texas, said he knew it was an Indian because the bones were red. Could it be the bones were red because of the red clay soil? Stories and messages get all muddled in some people's mind. I think the yarn about "Bloody Bill" Anderson living in Brown County originated with Lucy (Anderson) Whaley, who was not related to William Columbus "Uncle Billy" Anderson.
