Looking for more information on Thomas James and his family:
I descend through his son Abner James. It appears that Thomas and unknown wife came from North Carolina (prossibly Burke or Stokes County) to Adair County, Ky around 1810: Thomas James I believe died in Sparta, White County, Tennessee possibly around 1842.

I have found these children for Thomas, I am sure there are probably more:

I am interested in filling in and correcting as much as possible: I am also very interested in the Grider family Line, because Ruth and Catherine Smith's brother William Green Smith married Nancy Grider: Nancy was born abt 1802 in VA; any clues to where she fits into the Grider family tree?... Also interested in the William James and Mary Stokes is this Thomas James brother? Also is John L. James who married Cynthia ? Thomas James brother ? Any clues or thoughts to who Thomas James wife was ?
Was Mary Stokes father Silvanous Stokes? If so this would correlate with the name Silvanous S. James being used as a family name:
