What you claim were excerpts from Betty's book were not part of the finished product. Any GEDCOMs that may have been used in a rough draft were easily replaced with verifiable sources. I did see one GEDCOM your good friend Carol Holmes used as a source. After Betty's computer crashed, the computer repair people told her computer was bugged. This copyrighted information had been stolen from Betty's computer. I don't know where you got your information from. Can you give us the source of these excerpts?
Your statement about Sarah Mason being fifteen years older than Thomas James is wrong as well as the statement that they never married. VA Genealogical Society Quarterly Vol 36 Number 3, John Mercer's Land Book has information regarding George Mason giving 200 acres of land to Andrew Barbee's children and Thomas James.

Barbee's Crossroads has additional information regarding the marriage of Thomas James and Sarah E Mason that took place right after Andrew Barbee died.
