Hi Barb,
Do you have any details about Christian forrest please who had a land grant in Jamaica. Is that when the Sugar plantations were sarted. I think the dat of the grant wa 1673. I have a entleman who belongs o my local Family History Society who is trying to find some details on christian and his wife and children. Also when they may have left England to go to Jamaica and maybe name of ship so he can get the passenger lists. He is also interested in Thomas Forrest probably born 1680, maybe in Scotland, but could be in Jamaica or the Virgin Islands. His Thomas Forrest married margaret Miller in 1708 in London. the family were listed as having come from Jamaica. I have just noted the facebook page for the Earliest Known Antecedants . The Forrest Project. I think he knows some of it but not what I have asked on his behalf. he is a Forrest. I think Houghton was his grt Grandfather.this chap lives in Tasmania as well.
