Dear Bernice,
I am actually researching McLaughlin in Jamaica not MacLachlan, but I can point you in the right direction.
Just take a look at Patricia Burke Jackson's website at www. jamaicanfamilysearch.com. She has information on them there.
The Shannan MacLachlan family owned Valley Minor Estate, a cattle and pimento plantation in the hills above Runaway Bay in St. Ann Parish.
