Bonjour Herve,

I was reading your letter, and I do not live very far from Lowell, MA. My Jalbert ancestors lived in Salem, Ma, which is about 35 - 40 minutes or so from Lowell. My great great grandmother, Celina Jalbert, married Amedee Beaupre in Rollinsford, N.H. on July 29th, 1895. She was born in 1876, but I am not sure where. I am guessing either Maine or New Hampshire. I will look for connections for your Jalberts. By the way, Jalbert used to be "Gerbert," which you may have known. Other forms of "Jalbert" are Gilbert, Jalobert, Jelbert, Gelbert.

Most of my French ancestors are from Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada, and were originally from Normandy, France.

By the way, I visited Montreal last August, and it was a beautiful city! There is so much to do and see. Good luck in your search!
