Jakoubek - Moravia/Brno
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated:Trying to find my grandmother's family and am not sure where to go.She emigrated from somewhere in what is now Czech Republic when it was part of Austria, probably from Moravia, and Brno sticks in my memory. She was born 10/22 about 1888; came to US a few years prior to 1913 to a farm somewhere near Omaha Nebraska to live with either relatives or friends from the homeland.Married my grandfather, Josef/Joseph Vrba/Verba at St Wenceslaus Church in Omaha Nebraska in Nov 1913. Settled in Cleveland OH and had two sons, George and Edward. I'm trying to get documentation of her emigration, but am running into brick walls.I have a copy of marriage certificate, and her US citizenship filed at Board of Elections in Cleveland, OH 1944 -- they have been no help. Don't know any more except that she had a brother who may have proceeded her to the US.Many thanks for any words of wisdom.
