Looking for anyone related to my grandmothers family from Commercial Road Peckham London. The Jakes family were divided into at least two related families on this road. My great grandfather Benjamin Jakes and his brother Sidney Jakes who lived a few houses down the road.
My grandmother is Elizabeth Kempster nee Jakes her siblings were:
Alexander (Alec) Jakes
James (Jim) Jakes
Richard Alan Jakes
Alice Burns nee Jakes
Florence Louise Jakes
Lillian Mary Jakes
Ivy Jakes
Her cousins from Sidney Jakes family were:
George Jakes
Benjamin Jakes
Lenard Jakes
Violet Jakes
Burt Jakes
Stanley Jakes
as far as can be remembered there may have been more.
There was also another brother of Benjamin and Stanley Jakes called Sloper Jakes who as far as we know moved to Devon England.
