I am making an open appeal for all those known to be a decendant of the Jaggers surname to visit www.Genebase.com and perhaps, after becoming familiar with the site and it's mission, concider participating in the DNA Surname Projects. DNA Surname Projects are for GeneBase Users to gather people with the same last name to trace common ancestors using their Y-DNA markers.
I am participating with great expectation of gathering additional information of our linage from a relatively new source; my genetic history. I hope this will help narrow down the origin(s) of Jaggers (and its darivations). The more of us that participate the more data we will have to work with.
I would like to encourage all Jaggers (males to begin with for the Y-DNA search)in the Americas, Europe, and Austrailia to seriously consider pursuing this avenue. Older males as soon as possible. mtDNA tests (maternal) are also available.
I am using Genebase, which is an ISO17025 and AABB accredited laboratory, but any genetics genology lab will do. Usually the tests are for 20 and 44 marker tests.
