Jaggers Family Genealogy Forum

A bit of progress to report. I didn't find John Jaggers himself in 1841 census Ipswich, but did find: a) his future wife, Elizabeh Wilson, aged 15, with her family there. So she did not go to London, but surely met John Jaggers in Ipswich. b) his future business partner in Dublin, James Worts, who was a refiner in Ipswich in 1841. His children were born in Stepney, East London, right up to July 1840, so he was only in Ipswich for a few months. Next door to him was c) Ann Jaggers, "age 20", Independent means, born in UK but not in county of Suffolk. She surely has to be John Jagger's sister? So where was John J himself? I guess he has already gone over to Dublin from Ipswich to assess the business portential there. All this, and knowing already that his other business partner Caleb Fereday was also previously in East London, convinces me that JJ almost certainly came from there himself. Unfortunately there are several possible candidates, so I will next list them and try to eliminate some. Will post result of this in due course....
