Hello Barbara,
Thank you for your information about Joseph Jaschke. About 3 weeks ago I decided to get on the Oberschlesien list. In a few days I got several replies offering some advice and assistance. Then about a week later someone answered who had the "Ahnenpass" for a Jaeschke and he answered by query telling me the death date for Joseph and other information I knew about my family. He was a cousin to a daughter of my first cousin who had to complete the Ahnenpass. Anyway he has mailed me information I have been searching for for many years.
There are many Jaschkes in the area. I did several area searches while at the FHL at Salt Lake City. I extracted many Jaschke families and found that my Joseph's heimat was Eichau near Weigelsdorf where his wife was from.
So thank you for your information. They are probably related.
