Rahsaan! My long lost cousin! How delightful!I live in Colorado where I was born and raised. I am 40, in communications as an emergency dispatcher, will be married for 22 years this month, and have never been blessed with Children.
You have lots of cousins in Colorado from the Olivier side of the family.I do keep in contact with a few of them, as we have such a large family, many are spread out throughout the US.I don't know how interested in this side of the family you are, so I'll try to keep it as brief as possible.
The Jacquet side of the family comes from my Grandmother Laocade Jacquet-Olivier.Let me see if I can give you what I know this far....
I can go back to the 1700's with the Jacquet family...
Hyacinthe Jacquet was born in 1765, he married Rosine who was born in 1770. ( maiden name unknown, however, Rosine's parents were Ambroise and Angelique birthdate and sir names unknown, had to be in the early to mid 1700's) Hyacinthe and rosine...
had a son, (possibly more siblings, I cannot find) named Jean Baptiste Jacquet, who was born 6-6-1808. He married Marthe, born 1812 (maiden name unknown)...
they hadCazamir who was born in 1826, and married Mary Theresa Jean-Louis....
Theyhad a son named Casimire who was born in 1866. He married Louise ( maiden name unknown,I believe that she was a slave)..
they had Laocadd. who was born in 1896.Laocadd married Gerard Olivier Jr....
They had 10 Children..5 boys and 5 girls. One of whom is my father Murphy.
Well, that's it kiddo. That's as far as I have been able to get on the Jacquet side of the family.I do think it's kind of neat though that I was able to find all of this out on the internet.I joined Ancestry. com and was able to find out a lot, and was able to search through archives of names and dates in various cities and through out england and part of France.I have been unable to find out the country of origin for the Jacquets.I thought that they might be of middle eastern descent with the names of Casimir and Cazimire. If you know, share it with me.
It's so exciting meeting someone who is related! Please tell me about you.I am so interested.
Write me soon,
Lynette
