Hey Carol,
I don't know if this will help, but my "Bennett" family comes in with the "Proctor family". John Gray Proctor born about 1708 married Mary Bennett from Virginia in 1745. Mary's father was James Bennett and his father was Richard (all from Virginia).
John Gray and Mary settled in North Carolina and died there; John in 1771 and Mary around 1770. I don't have any information about Weldon or anything close to it.
I don't have any Bennett's on my SC side, but then again, I have a lot of holes on that side also. My Jacksons are from SC though. They are intermixed with the Loves, Lundies, Mannings, Ballentines, and Farguharsons.
Going back to the NC side, my genealogy chart has an "opening" on the "Mitchell" family. My last name is Mary Mitchell married to William Cole (b: 1776). Now from Mary, I have nothing, so it may be possible any of those names you mentioned could fit somewhere after her in her line. Mary Mitchell is one of my brick walls, so anything is possible. The reason I mention her, is her line goes right beside of John Gray Proctor and Mary Bennett on the chart, so any of your names could be relative or even a neighbor, who knows.
If you have a break-through, I'd love to hear it.
Good luck hunting
Hope this may help.
