I am researching a James Jackson of Brighton.I think he may have been a son of Hugh Jackson.James Jackson married Jane Jackson daughter of Robert. This James Jackson was born Ireland ~1782 and may have died ~1852 (1852 Beaver Co Registers Docket 1-226).There is also a reference in "History of Beaver Co PA 1888" and my notes say "p114 1852 ... 19 September, James Jackson, aged 70 years".This James Jackson is also found in the 1850 Brighton Twp p72 census at age 67 with (son) Robert Jackson age 35 and (son) James E. Jackson age 30 Physician. Also in the 1888 History of Beaver Co PA, there is a BIO of a Charles E. Jackson. In the BIO it states, in reference to his grandfather "James Jackson, the first member of this family in America, came from Ireland when 18 years of age, and soon after his arrival here located in Allegheny county, where he remained only for a few years, settling finally in Beaver county, where he purchased a farm containing seventy-five acres. He married Jane Jackson, who was also from Ireland, and to whom were born eight children.Dr. James E. (deceased) being the youngest. He was born in 1818 and died in 1875".So it appears as though this James Jackson was in Allegheny Co. in 1798 and could be the James jackson you referenced as the one of the administrators for the will of James Mann of Allegheny Co.I think he would be one generation older than your James Mann.
There is a Hugh Jackson buried in Irwin cemetery, "Jackson, Hugh died 1833 age 76 years old". I think this may be Hugh, father of Jane Jackson. There is also a Hugh Jackson who has a Beaver Co will dated 1839 (could be Hugh Jackson who died 1833).Not sure if either of these Hugh Jacksons would be the administator of James Mann will. There is also one more Hugh Jackson that I know of (other than the younger ones born ~1810) that appears in the 1850 Bazetta Trumbull Co OH p460 Hugh Jackson age 88 b. PA.He may have once been in Beaver Co PA.He has a daughter Sophrona Jackson Tarris who was in Big Beaver Twp in 1860.
I am not sure who the Robert Jackson in 1850 (with Robert Mann living with him) belongs to yet.Still more to untangle. There are quite a few James and Hugh Jackson that were born 1800..1810.Possibly this generation may be the administrators to the James Mann will.BTW, do you happen to have an index to the "Old Beaver Cemetery, Clark Square" or the "North Sewickley Cemetery, Established 1830, Presbyterian church" ?I am intersted in Jacksons buried there.
