I can find nothing about Andrew.I have thought it was just because there were so many Andrew Jacksons around that I couldn't track him.I suppose it is possible that he was hiding from the law. There was a John Jackson in Ray County who was listed as a known rider for Quantrill's Raiders. I have not be able to make the connection legitimately, but I believe this John to be a cousin of Andrew.I live in northwest Missouri and this was the area for a lot of raiding and bushwacking. There is a grave marked only with a rock next to Alfred Jackson's stone. It is possible that Andrew is there.Andrew's brother, Asa, is buried next to the rock, but he had a stone. He died in 1860, again at he time of much turmoil here in Missouri.I have not been able to uncover Asa's demise, but again there is the possibility of riding on the wrong side of the law.It is exciting to speculate . . . who knows? For all I know he died of appendicitis!!!
The William I am working on was born c. 1834.He married Lucinda Holman and had children in Liberty, MO.His son became a mortician and had a business on the south side of the square there. His children were Ellen (married Irving Miller), Elwood H. who had a son William R., Elizabeth (married John Fletcher), and Alfred Asa Jackson, who had children Leo and Jessie D.
The "Doc" in the 1870 census was Taber Jackson, brother to Chesley, Charles, Levi, William, etc.To my knowledge, he was not really a doctor, but just acquired the nickname for some reason.I have visited with Taber's granddaughter who is in her 80's, and she did not know why he had that nickname. He just always did.I have been trying to figure out the John and the Barbara. Can't find them except the possibility of Barbara in Clinton County, MO.They might have been cousins.Another monkey wrench is that Alfred's family supposedly took in orphans from the trains.
