Dear Scott and Ann
I have records for a Miles Jacklin who was born January 1731/1732 (Changes between Julian and Gregorian calenders do cause problems with the year) in South Somercotes Lincolnshire, I do not have and records of descendents though.

Before you start celebrating. I better tell you that when you look in the Phone book for North Lincolnshire the Surname Jacklin is like the surname Smith (Covers multiple pages almost). From the records I have seen they are all descended from a family called Jackline (or Jacklynge) who lived in a place called Belleau and Aby which is just south of the market town of Louth, I have at present no link to this family. I am descended from a Robert Jacklin who lived in a village called Yarburgh and was born in about 1655, there is a good chance that your Miles is descended from the same Robert as I have plenty of dead ends where I do not have any records of descendents.

There is also an older branch of the Jacklin Family in Cambridgeshire where I have records from the present day right back too 1170. My gut feel is that the Lincolnshire branch is an off shoot of the cambridegeshire family somewhere.

              Regards
                     Steve Jacklin
