Deborah, Thanks for posting this to GENFORUM back in July 2005.

This Luke JACKLEY was born February 1876. He was the son of John Jackley and Henrietta (Nickerson, I believe). The last record I find of him is the 1910 census; he's out in Washington State; his widowed mother is living with him. He's in his mid 30s and single; so it appears he did not marry or have children. I could not find him in the 1920 or 1930 census.

His father, John Jackley, was born Johannes Jaekle on 15 Jun 1839 in Schwenningen, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Johannes, along with his parents and siblings, emigrated to the U.S. in April 1847. They lived initially in Rensselauer Co., NY (1850), then Berkshire Co., MA (1860). But son John headed to the midwest by 1870. He died before 1900.

I have the JAEKLE ancestry back many generations in Schwenningen.
