Jackleys of NY, MA and Madison Co., Indiana
Several years ago, while researching my JAUCH ancestry (which hailed from Schwenningen, Wuerttemberg, Germany), I learned about and was inspired by researcher Karl Weiler's documentation of an 1847 town-subsidized emigration of many Schwenningen residents to America.
You can read about it here:

A couple of years ago, I decided to try to identify the whereabouts of those who were part of this emigration (in part, too, because my ancestor, Andreas JAUCH, was on the list of emigres). I post my findings on my web site.
As a result of this research, I was recently contacted by Greg Neff, a descendant of one of the emigrating families. Working with him, and returning to the Schwenningen church records, I have now confirmed the following:
Jakob JAECKLE, b. 10 Dec 1809, was the son of Johannes Jaeckle and Ursula Speck. (See FHL #1658747,Band 24, Familienbuch, Volume I, #155.)
On 24 Feb 1835 (FHL #1658745, Band 13, Marriages 1835, #5), he married Maria JAUCH, daughter of Johannes Jauch and Agnes MEHNE (FHL# 1658747, Band 24, Familienbuch, Volume I, #98).
Jakob and Maria's family registry is Volume I, #154b (FHL #1658747, Band 24). Prior to emigration, Jakob was a clock or watchmaker. (uhrmacher)
They had several children through December 1846 before emigrating in April 1847.
They were initially in Rensselauer Co., NY, but ended up due east, across the border in Lanesborough, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. They dropped clockmaking and became glass blowers. They had more children. Jakob and Maria died about 1880/1881, and many of their descendants ended up in Madison County, Indiana and elsewhere in the midwest.
Greg Neff is descended from Jacob and Maria's son Jacob Jakley, Jr. I see from other postings in this forum that other descendants of this couple are aware of pieces of this story. I hope that I can help you flesh out additional pieces; as you'll see below, I have your ancestry WAY back.

I then researched census records of Jacob and Maria's descendants (as much as I could-- I see from postings in this forum that there's a lot more information) and I've placed a PDF of Jacob and Maria's descendants (narrative report) here (less living people):

I am VERY distantly related to this line (way back up several generations in Germany), and in fact, I'm 98% certain that any one person who is descended from any one individual from Schwenningen, is related to all individuals descended from Schwenningers. I have yet to find otherwise.
As you'll see, I'm trying to document all lines of these 1847 emigres to the present. Please contact me if you'd like to participate in this whacky research project of mine; in the meantime,
Enjoy!
