Ronald, there is an old saying that Adolph Hitler once strolled down Princes street in Edinburgh. He had a list of several dozen vendors of tartan materials ready to sell him all of the "authentic" Hitler tartan he might care to purchase. As there was never a "Jack" clan, it is a bit presumptuos for us to invent a clan tartan. I was a piper for many years (be 80 my next birthday) and I have worn the Gordon tartan all of that time. Why? Well one pipe band I was in, the Goldne Bears of Sacrfamento, CA, switched form the military Cameron to the Gordon tartan and I bought a new kilt from Thomas Gordon and Son of Glasgow. I am on my second one now and feel quite comfortable in it as it is not Clan Godon, but rather the House of Gordon and they welcome all - particulary if you care to send money! However, you are to be commended for suggesting the project! Floyd Jack, Las Vegas, NV
