I am the son of Lawren Franklin Izer who is the son of George Franklin (went by the name Frank) Izer. Georges mothers name was Maude Izer and I'm not yet clear on his fathers first name. George was born in Sloan, Iowa in 1895 but the story goes that the family was on the move and his birth wasn't recorded until they got to Cody, Wyoming. Georges father was somewhat of a migrant worker leaving the kids and wife someplace while he pursued work in the forest industry or in the fields. Lore has it that he and a couple of the older boys (0f which there were Bill, Harry, Herb, Lloyd, George, Art and maybe more)would travel from their home in Washington state to Pennsylvania to annually to work in the logging industry. Great grandfather Izer died in 1932 or 33 in Pasco, Washington from a heart attack while setting on a park or bus bench. He is buried there. Maude is buried in Portland, Oregon where she lived with her son Lloyd. She had a sister who was married to a fellow in Montana by the last name of Cox. We know this because my Aunt, (Lawrens sister) who is a Rogers by marriage, has a letter from Muades sister in which she wrote of her grief after hearing of her sisters death. This letter is addressed to my grandfather, George F. Izer. Anyone out there who can add to this story, please do!
