My greatgrandmother was Catherine Ivory, born in Dublin, and arrived here in Victoria, Australia, aged about 4 years old. Her parents were John Ivory and Elizabeth Canven, as per Certificate of Marriage to Robert McGirr in Melbourne, in 1865. Her Death Certificate states she was 87 when she died and had been in Victoria for 83 years.
I would love to learn more about her - haven't been able to find out exactly when she or her parents arrived, or whether or not she might have been a Potato Famine Orphan who was shipped out here. Any help would be much appreciated.
