While I thought it was evident that my little diatribe was tongue-in-cheek, it was brought to my attention that Ken, while almost certainly related to us Southern Ivesters, is a New Englander and thus a "Yankee." Lest my joke be taken the wrong way, I confess before all that my Mom's ancestors washed up at Scituate, Mass. c. 1635, and included Maj. James Mason, of Pequot Indian war fame, and his son-in-law (and with him, co-founder of the City of Norwich, CT) the Rev. James Fitch, Puritan clergyman. I don't think folks get much more Yankee than that! So, not to mention that I was born in the shadow of the Empire State Building and raised in New Jersey, my maternal ancestry is hardcore Yankee (altho' I do think the Confederates were right on the Constitutional principles, although wrong of course about slavery).
