(Grandfather a Preacher?) · The name on his Tombstone monument is Burl Ives · He studied at Eastern Illinois State Charleston Teachers College and New York University · Studied with vocal coach, Ekka Toedt · He was a Corporal in the U.S.Army during WWII as Burl Icle Ives · Burl had joined DeMolay in Illinois on December 5, 1927 · Burl was made a Master Mason in Magnolia Lodge No. 242 in Santa Barbara, California. · Burl and Dorothy bought a new home in Santa Barbara on September 2, 1975. · February 10, 1976, Burl Icle Ives was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. · Burl Ives died of cancer on April 14, 1995 Anacortes, WA.
