The bad news is that Amasa was a pretty common name among the Ives back when. ACI lists 14 of them. Only one, however, is an obvious possibility. Here he is:

Amasa Ives, b. abt. 1819, d. 7/19/1850. He was the son of Watrous Ives (b. 10/30/1784, d. 3/19/1848) and Polly Yale (b. 9/3/1792).

He's a possible only because his name is Amasa, and the dates look about right. At the moment I'd rate him a long shot, but worth looking into. I have his line back to William the Puritan if you want.

Now, I'm wondering about the son, Albert. Is this him, do you think?
