Robert C. Ives served in Regiment K, 19th Regiment of Iowa Infantry Volunteers. He enlisted in August 1962 and was shot in the face in December 1962 breaking his jaw. Some of his teeth exited with the bullet leaving him unable to chew or speak properly. He received a half pension and lived to be 83 years old. Charles Ives died in 1869 and is buried in Michigan. Erastus Ives died July 10, 1861. Charles and Erastus both could have fought in the Civil War, and Erastus might have even died in the war. I never thought to check their war records. Thanks for pointing that out to me!
