Brandy, Its pretty likely that these folks descend from the Timothy Ives line. Timothy came to the Tidewater area of Virginia from England in the early 1600's. Most - probably all - Ives found in Norfok and Princess Anne Counties are his descendents. I've done some research on this line, and any researcher of this Ives line has both my admiration and my sympathy. Timothy's line just plain hasn't been researched in any great detail, as far as I can tell. Getting anywhere with them requires original research, and the records are...incomplete, confusing, and in many cases probably never existed. Like most Virginia records of the Colonial and early Federal periods. I did a quick look in my data and unfortunately don't immediately see anyone who is obviously the family you seek. That's not to say they aren't there, just not obvious. Since you've apparently found Leonard and William in Princess Anne County, my first guess is that they descend from the Bartlett Ives branch of Timothy's tree. I see at least a couple Williams in that branch who might be your guy, but without more data I can't begin to say. Can you provide anymore specifics on these folks? Some dates or at least approximate years would be especially helpful. Date of Leonard's birth? Or, since you have an obituary, you must have at least an approximate death date?
