In addition to the above post, in 1860 John and Lucinda are listed as dwelling #1157; family #1177 John age 45 c1815 b.NC; R.E. value 2000; personal estate 1000; Lucinda's age is not clear, but I believe it is 84 also shown as b in NC. John and Lucinda are living next door to Isham and Mary and family. Isham as age 56 also shown as born in NC. Evidently this census taker assumed everyone was born in NC or TN (ha,ha)Isham's real estate value was 1800 and personal estate was 1200. In 1875 land records it states that Lucinda was over 100, but according to census records she wasn't that old, but you never know who gave the information for the census or how casually that information was given by the person themself. Most people then were skeptical of government persons; not much different than today, right?
