Hi Ceinwen, I have only just discovered this site, but did some research 2 years ago. Can I refer you to my Posting No 107, where you will find more details on the Family of Thomas b.1809. The 1851 Census gives his age as 41, but of course he could have had his 42nd Birthday in 1851.His 2nd initial is given as C, presumably Coleman.Note also his son Edmund Masters aged 8 in 1851.See also my Posting 108 concerning the proliferation of the name Edmund, which runs through so many branches, suggesting a common root, maybe in the 18th Century???
Please email me direct, if you prefer, although Postings are obviously useful to a wider group of researchers.
With best wishws,
