I am looking for my grandfather, Joseph Cassady (Cassaty,Cassidy, Cassate). He was born in Austria in l862-64 and immigrated with his family in 1866-68. His fathers name was Dominick. Stories I heard,as a child, were that he talked about Haflinger horses and mountain farms which sound like the Tirol area, and a village called Tyrol north of Merano, Italy. The area would have been Austria at the time of immigration. On a census he listed his parents as Austrian/Swiss. Any suggestion/information would be greatly appreciated.
