Hi,My grandparents come from this same area of Italy. They are from Caramanico to which Roccacaramanico used to belong before Sant'Eufemia absorbed it.
I've been researching this area for many years. I believe I have some info on your ancestors that will help you.Unfortunately I don't have anything on your grandparents but at least this info will give you a ballpark date in time when they may have been born.
I obtained this information from civil record indexes of the records of Roccacaramanico which I copied off microfilm at my local Family History Library.I only have a few years of indexes available to me (1861-1865) because most to the village records have not been microfilmed yet. I have them because one of the branches of my grandparents family moved to this village and I wanted to complete this family line.
I've had good luck getting some of the more recent documents from the Archives in Pescara. Have you tried to email them? They charge a small fee for their research and copy services but they are well worth it. They do a fabulous job. I've never paid over $15 total for anything they've sent me and this was for multiple documents. Let me know if you would like their email address and I will post it for you.
Here's what I have. Some of the info is missing because the records were in terrible shape and the handwriting is so poor it was extremely hard to read. Hope it helps.
Marriage 12 September 1862 – Roccocaramanico
Groom: Michalino De Vincentiis,
f. Michalino De Vincentiis
m: Grazia Mastra……(??) not sure of the rest
Bride: Angela Camilla Massarotti
F: Camillo Massorotti
M: Brigida (?...giani)not sure
Children:
Palma De Vincentiis born 9 March 1862
Filomena De Vincentiis born 6 March 1864
Children of Domenico Inglese& Teresina Del Papo
Rochetta Inglese born 1 May 1861, died 21 July 1861
Giuseppe Inglese born 31 August 1862, died 10 June 1863
Giuseppe Inglese,(2) born 28 November 1864 (probably your Peppino)
PS: I didn't find a record for the marriage of Domenico and Teresina so they must have been married before 1861.
PSS:I know that the De Vincentiis' date of marriage and the date of birth of their first child do not quite make sense but this is how I found them.If I get a chance to go to the research library I will look a these two records on the microfilm to see if perhaps a mistake was made on the indexes.Otherwise you'll have an interesting story to tell which no one will quite believe!
