The Paccasassi name is not very common, which is a good thing for the researcher. On Ellis Island there is an entry which may be your Giovanni. They have made a lot of transcription errors in the spelling of towns and names, but this is what I found on a passenger manifest:
S. S. Re' D'Italia
Sailed from Naples June 6, 1907
Arrived at the Port of NY on June 21, 1907
Name: Giovanni Paccasaofi (misspelling of Paccasassi)
Age 27
Male
Married
Last Residence: Lonhoguerra (misspelling probably)
Final Destination: Falls River, MA
In US previously: 1906 - 1907
Visiting cousin: Sabbatino (could not read last name)
Place of birth: (could not read)
If you'd like to take a look at it, go to the following web site:

Using the white form, type in the surname or a partial of the name.
You can also check the Italian White Pages for the Paccasassi families who are listed in the phone book.

For further research on trying to find Giovanni's birthplace, this is a good web site, if you haven't already read it:
