HiPeter, On my great uncle Guiseppi(Joseph) Fungaroli's passport, there was a question about the birthplace of his father. He wrote Naples, but I suspect that since many Fungarolis from Calabritto, Avellino, Italy, and since that is all in the same area that that is where he came from. Aslo my father told us stories that when his father was in Italy that they raised goats and lived in a hilly region-hence; Calabritto. It also stated that his father came in from New York. Fungaroli is a very rare name in Italy and the United States. We have approximated that there are less than 200 descendents living today (and that included the Italy descendents). All of the Fungarolis in Italy come from the Avellino region. Also, on the census it stated that he came to the United States in 1888-1889. I have searched and searched.... But, to no avail. I've been to NARA in Pittsfield, MA and searched manifests, but I have come up with nothing. I know that my grandfather Gelsomino came in 1889. That record is everywhere; however, no record of his mother and father. Gail Notify Administrator about this message?
