D'Alessio/Alessio/Lessio

My great grandmother Napolina (Apulinea, Appoline, Paluina) was born in 1857 in Italy. I assume that she came from the Avellino district since that is where her husband Domenico Fungaroli lived. They immigrated to the US cir. 1888 and settled on 7th Avenue in Little Italy, Newark, New Jersey.

She died on July 10, 1900 in the Essex County Hospital for the Insane at the age of 43. She had given birth to 6 children and all but two died, and the family story is that her depression was so deep from losing the children that she slumped into irrevocable depression. She is buried in Holy Sepulcre Church Cemetary in Newark.

Her parents were Guiseppi and Rosa Alessio or d'Alessio or Lessio-I have 3 distict spellings of the names.

If anyone has any information on this name, I would love to hear from him/her.
Gail
