I purchased the subject undated studio portrait and a second one, circa 1917, both taken by Logemann's Studio, San Francisco, CA. The second photo depicts an older Dallio and his future bride, Louise Armanino (engagement photo?). The first photo is identified on the back: "1 Al Chiappari 2 Mario " 3 Renie 4 Dallio 5 Louie (Gigu)" The second photo is identified on the back: "Louise Armanino Dallio Chiappari" I found the Chiappari family listed in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 Census data for San Francisco, San Francisco, CA. The family resided at 58 Foote Street in 1910 and 48 Foote Street in 1920 and 1930. The individuals depicted in the first photo were children of Giovanni "Joe" Chiappari, born 27 Sep 1875 in Italy, and Palmira (maiden name unknown), born about 1875 in Italy. The family immigrated in 1902. Giovanni worked as a nurseryman. The children were: Louis J., born 29 May 1895 in San Pietro, Vara, Italy Dallio, born 23 Apr 1897 in Genoa, Italy Irene, born about 1900 in Italy Mario, born about 1902 in CA Albert, born about 1908 in CA I found WWI draft registration cards for Giovanni, Louis, and Dallio. I found Louise L. A. Armanino listed in the 1910 Census data for San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA. She was the daughter of Nick N. A. Armanino, born about 1870 in Italy, and Jennie J. A. (maiden name unknown), born about 1871 in Italy (they immigrated in 1890). The family resided at 144 Porter Avenue. Nick worked as a florist in a nursery. Dallio and Louise had at least one child, Dallio S., born 6 Apr 1918 in CA. Contact me if you wish to view and/or acquire these photos. Notify Administrator about this message?
