Dear Peter,

The Spanish origin is a possibility but the problem is that MONCHE does not exist in Spain except those from Italian origin. I have found some MONCHE in USA and I have written to all of them for the case they could provide to me with some information.

As most of them have the same first names as had the sons and daughters in Spain of my Italian ancestor we may share a same origin. I am waiting for their answer.

Now, I am planning to go to spend some days in September in Maratea to see if I can get there some clue.

Thanks for your help!

Alberto Monche
