Anelio Lisandrelli
Anelio "Nello" Lisandrelli, 97, of Jefferson Twp., died Tuesday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Community Medical Center after a brief illness. His wife of 64 years, the former Annetta Ragnacci, died in 2004.
Born and raised in Scheggia, Italy, son of the late Giuseppe and Lucrezia Fioroni Lisandrelli, he was educated in Scheggia. He moved to Rome at the age of 16, where he worked in construction and later as a security guard in a furniture warehouse. He was a veteran of World War II.
He and his family moved to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in Mount Cobb, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He was a member of St. Eulalia's Church in Elmhurst, and was employed by the David Elliot Poultry Farm for 54 years.
He was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who was very dedicated to his wife and family. A man of great faith, he was deeply devoted to St. Anthony of Padua. He always enjoyed learning new things, listening to music, tending to the roses and feeding the birds. Most of all, he loved life and nature. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Nello's family sincerely thanks Dr. Enrico Serine, the Allied skilled nursing staff and the staff of VNA Hospice at CMC for their love and caring during their father's illness.
Surviving are a son, Angelo J. Lisandrelli and wife, Dawn, Clarksville, Tenn.; a daughter, Maria C. Scheller, Madison Twp.; a son, Carl A.
