Kim,
I have one roll of microfilm from 1871/1872 births which contains Stigliano. Were any of your relatives born in that timeframe? Also, I have a MARCHESE relative (Pietro), son of Felice, born in Montalbano, Ionico (also in the Matera Province, and not too too far from Stigliano).
Let me know if any of this is familiar or if I can scan the film for your relatives.
