Bridges and Schools

This time I’ll try to ask something more difficult.

My grandfather Foppiani/o Luigi arrived in New York in 1905 and returned definitively to Italy in 1913ca. He was carpenter and in that period he worked at the construction of a bridge... I don’t know which (perhaps the Manhattan bridge or the Queensboro bridge). In that period were the workers recorded? Does lists exist, maybe for the security? He was born in New York. Is it possible to verify where he worked?
In that period he lived at 177-179 Park Row.

How can I find information about the elementary school that my mother Foppiani Angiolina (Angela) attended until 1912? Perhaps in those districts Italian schools existed? How can I find information about this?

Thanks to whom will want to help me
Luciano
