Hi Tony,
I am pretty sure my great grandfather was from Villa Rosa. That is what the ship manifest says and that is where my family says he is from. I have just sent a letter to Villa Rosa requesting any records about the family. My uncle speaks Italian and wrote the letter for me. I wish it were a faster process. I would love to go to Italy and find things out. I hear that Tumia is a very common name over there. My great-grandfather went to his town in the 50's and found the house he lived at and the name plate was still above the door! His mother Rosalia Palimeri, also came over later that year 12/1916-1/1917 with her daughter Liboria Or Libby. He died in 1969 when I was only 3.

Thanks for the spelling of "January". I am going to have to do some more research on that because all of my great-grandmother's papers - even her marriage license have January listed. The search goes on!! So somehow we are related. I don't know any of my great-grandfather's siblings yet, hoping to find that out with the information from Italy.

Keep in touch,
Cori
