I'm unsure when my ancestors came to the US because I only recently found out that my Grandfather had been adopted as a boy in the 1920's. In the 1930 census he was listed as a ward of the state with the last name Statuto. He had never told his family, and has recelty passed away. I am still trying to get hs birth certificate and adoption records unrestricted through the court house, but I really don't know how long that will take, or if I am taking the correct route.
