Hi Margaret: Found this at the Ellis Island site (www.ellisislandrecords.com): Franceso Mancuso arrived July 1, 1900. Left the port of Naples and the town of Platania Was going to visit his son Carlo... He is listed as single...could mean he is a widower. Age is 62, he is a laborer and going to Pittsburg, PA A Maria Angela Bonadio, age 33, a tailor and her husband, Leopolo Bonodio age 43, are also from the same area and it says that she is going to meet her brother in law, Carlo Mancusco...Carlo's wife is probably her sister. There is also a child, Giuseppe, age 9 with them. They are on the ship Bolivia. There are others among the list that are also headed to PA. A Pasquale and his family, a Christina...there are so many Mancuso's listed it would be hard to capture them all! Since you know Francesco was 62 in 1900, his birth date will be about 1838 or so. You can order the microfilm records from the town at your local Family History Library. Go to www.familysearch.org to see where the nearest library to your home would be.
